A Century of Sisterhood
The word “Soroptimist” comes from the Latin soror (sister) and optima(best) — meaning “best for women.” Since 1921, the movement has grown into a global network of over 72,000 members across 120 countries.
In Bangladesh, our clubs bring together professional women and volunteers passionate about creating meaningful change. We work through local projects, national campaigns, and global advocacy to improve the lives of women and girls across all 64 districts.
Our work spans education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and freedom from violence — addressing the most pressing challenges facing Bangladeshi women today.
